James R. Hutter, CPA
Jim founded Hutter & Associates, P.C. in 1982. As president of the firm, he provides accounting, tax, estate planning and advisory services for various commercial businesses and individuals. A significant portion of Jim's time is devoted to serving business and individual clientele in tax planning and research.
Jim has over thirty years of public accounting experience. Prior to forming Hutter & Associates, he served as a tax manager of the South Bend, Elkhart & Niles offices of Coopers & Lybrand, a national accounting firm.
Jim is a 1972 graduate of Western Michigan University. His professional memberships include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Indiana CPA Society and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, which he had served as chairman of the Southwestern Chapter. Jim also served four years as an enlisted man in the United States Air Force.
Jim's outside interests include spending time with his family, golf (as much as possible) and an occasional trout fishing trip.
Matthew E. Hollander, CPA, MBA
Matt has been with the firm since 2000. He prepares individual and corporate tax returns and is involved with review and compilation engagements. Matt also specializes in selecting software packages for businesses in various industries. He actively meets year round with clients to assist with training/planning and also to reduce work associated with the annual tax and financial work.
Matt has worked in public accounting since 1998. Previous to this experience, he worked for a large private company as an accountant and was involved in implementing early technology advancements for the company. He also was a founding partner of a local wireless internet service provider that brought high speed internet to the Harbor Country area in 2004. Matt is a graduate of Western Michigan University. He obtained his Masters of Business Administration from Indiana University. He has served as the Chairman and Treasurer on several boards of not for profit and governmental organizations.
Matt's outside interests include recreational sports, hiking, vacations and figuring out how things work.
